Depending on the method of hardness measurement, following indenters are produced

Rockwell  – a diamond cone with 120° tip angle and 200 µm tip radius

Vickers – a quadrangular pyramid with 136º tip angle and tip tolerances +/- 2 µm

Micro Vickers  – a quadrangular pyramid with 136º tip angle and tip tolerances +/- 1 µm

Knoop  – a rhombical base pyramid with 172.5° and 130° tip angles

Berkovich – a trihedral pyramid with 65° and 77° tip angles
